I visited someone that lived in an country club, when I arrived I noticed their mailbox was off the post laying in the street, braving the rain I picked it up , it was stuffed full had not been emptied in weeks, mail unread, bills, junk mail, birthday cards, all soaking in the icy cold rain. Not commenting on a blog seems like that mailbox to me. This is my maiden voyage blogging, and I am unsure how or what to say. I do know that in conversation it is important to engage the person you are speaking with, to give nods or gestures that will let then know you are an engaged listener.

In the 10 Techniques article ( which I read after beginning blogging ugh!) I found what I was doing wrong
blogging is just like talking ask for feed back, be humble, be gracious be engaging, As I blog not I try and image that I am talking directly to someone. This seems to help.
How to comment like a king (or queen!) - from The Coolcat Teacher
The biggest aha moment from this reading was the idea that students, and people like to comment on themselves and their work. Of course I knew this but I had not realized how blogging could offer this. I can see a big advantage to getting each student to set up their blog, the shy student could be drawn out .
Reading the example blogs attached to the article helped get my nerve up and an idea of how to properly write a blog. Of course its like anything else a year from now I will look back at these post and feel ill thinking I should have said this or that.
I chose to post on D Constance, K Edmonson, M Martinez, L Seger and W Corthron from our group. The reasons i selected them are to get to know them better and get an idea of what they felt about the items on the 23 things.
The out of group blogs I posted on were the Atlanta Braves and Creative Loafing.
The reason for this was to urge the Bravos on and comment on the live tv news person and his livebroadcast in front of the Church and ping pong parlor in Atlanta
