Thing 6

I just incorporated the cutest video in my assignment for teaching econ for 7th graders.  This site is free but you do have to join take a minute to do that the quality of the videos are good and subject specific
Here is an example of a cute into to Econ for 7th graders:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_Jni0BBhpI&noredirect=1

I have chosen You Tube form the award winning list.  This medium can and has changed the way we will conduct the classroom.  I spent the past 4 months as a Librarian in a local school system which has chosen to bloc You Tube from their internet site, of course by 10 am all the students that which have circumvented the block and are lol at the videos.
We have to embrace this site not just for the visual learners but for all. With  the arrival of you tube for educators, if you have not joined this I recommend you do, there can be no reason not to make it
readily available to class.
The pitfalls are obvious we will have to monitor the site at first the temptations are too great.  I found that if guided in the proper channel the students enoyed educational clips as much as what ever they had chosen, though they would not admit to it.

As for the applications in the class or library, when could You Tube not be used to enhance a lesson, the only reasons i can think of are time constraints or ignorance.

You Tube can be linked form any search engine I think I was introduced to it on Google.
