Web 2.0 has changed the world, the blogs ans tweets coming out of Egypt during the rebellion are a testament to that. According to Wikipedia:
2.0 is the intersection of web features that allow collaboration. I found it humorous that the founder of the web, Tim Berners-Lee vision has come true.
Web 2.0 is un-geekifying to coin a phrase the web and opening it up to novices like myself. The new technology that has allow collaboration between one and all is the basis for the evolution of 2.0. Anyone with access to the web can join the world via blogs, Twitter and the like an in an instant become an active participant on any subject they choose.
The usage for 2.o in the class room is something we must embrace the students are using social networks outside the school we must allow them to bring that usage into the class. We have to embrace not ignore or discourage the involvement on the student
At the risk of repeating myself from previous blogs 2.0 allows collaboration with teacher student and parent why would we not want even insist on involving this new dynamic in the classroom?
Teacher 2.0 is a natural off shoot of Web 2.0. According to David Jakes:
The professional development has allowed the connection of individuals into a community of learners with things as:
Blogs, Del.icio.us ( a book marking site that allows you see all resources form users and send links to the resources), Pod cast and RSS feeds, will allow the teacher to make the web 2.0 opens up a new world of learning.
This article has a wealth of links to all the Teacher 2.0 sites I can image anyone would need.
I tried to watch the Atomic video had some technical issues, her early point of transition from blackboard to paper to computer was interesting, however the monotone voice was like fingernails on a blackboard, I could not finish it.
The point of Teacher 2.0 is simply this we will utlize Web 2.0 or be left behind.
I would recommence the book Who Moved My Cheese to anyone with reservations about the changes.
